My 'Cap Black' umbrella role for advocacy is about going the extra mile for the Black community and all in it- nobody is left out! 'Xtra' runs parallel to the 'RLSH' or 'real life superhero' community, sort of like a distant first cousin to it. LOL. I've been doing my 'Cap Black' role since 2008 when I first heard about often-costumed advocates during the 'Occupy New York' recession era who were giving food to the homeless and doing safety patrols. Before then my advocacy was informed by a lifelong love of heroic fiction as well as heroes from Black history but never thought anyone would actually 'suit up' to do it. I didn't do full face masks (I wear glasses lol) largely due to being a large Black man in a Southern city where that could easily have been mistaken for criminal intent. Same for wearing a 'gimmick' (uniform or costume) because I'm too bulky for tights lol but more power to those who wear them. Tsh...

Note: This is a very early MLK Day/Black History Month 2026 topic: While researching groups inside the 'real life superhero' or 'RLSH' community on their wiki, this phrase, 'Xtra,' popped into my mind at 4:44am, on October 28, 2025. It's a Black parallel to the 'X-Alt' or 'extreme altruist' model popularized by a White anti violence and stalking advocate as a more grounded alternative within the broader 'RLSH' movement. We, myself and conservatives, seek to conserve different things. My second amendment stance has nothing to do with the colonists who founded this country for their own people I.might add, not necessarily mine. I apologize to integrationists among us but personal protection while Black demands brutal honesty. Self defense for me is rooted in opposing a public/private partnership that dehumanized enslaved persons, and their progeny. An implicit bias in majority population self defense advocacy is the concept of arming themselves first against uprisings by enslaved persons and since, to guard themselves from enslaved persons descendants still stigmatized as innate criminals.   Beloved ancestor Malcolm X is one of 'the' great influences of my life.   When you consider community members committing crime against other members to be traitors, as I call them, it emphasizes that our loyalty must be to community safety, personally, for family, friends & everybody in our community It's our duty to uphold community safety.   Happy Founder's Day to the Black Panther Party! I was an infant when the party was founded on October 15, 1966. Their imagery and survival programs inspired my later #borrowabrother community safety creation outreach,  #halthunger food outreach to our homeless and 'almost homeless' working class and recently, #prayerfulpanther advocacy. As beloved ancestor Malcolm X inspired them, so have he and this first generation of Panthers inspired me, including local original New Orleans chapter member beloved Brother Malik Raheem.   While conservative friends may wince at my racial views, fact is. this is what the 2025 New Orleans mayoral to election was about: Most GOP donors backed Moreno. 80% of White voters backed Moreno. It was a White power move not the 'colorblindness' preached by their ideology.  They even froze out peers backing a moderate Black candidate like Oliver Thomas who engages all sectors of the city. Original salute once again to statewide advocate Gary Chambers for pulling the proverbial hood off of racial reality behind the rhetoric. Here's another racial revelation: The same local White liberals who marched for George Floyd and against Donald Trump marched to the polls with White Republicans they publicly oppose to privately vote against working class Black leadership in the mayor's office of this majority Black, working class city. When I create safety in the community it's to address treason, violent and other crime or violations of boundaries undermining Black people with sense and others in our spaces. Racist White conservatives, and nationalists among them , applaud actions taken against Black violators whom they associate with ALL Black people. They overlook non Black ones I address. That's the difference that makes ALL the difference between my self love based safety advocacy and an anti Black outside ideology. Cap Black.

One need not change one's name, diet or theology (though it would be GREAT if you did LOL) to be a conscious Black person. Change your thinking. Rebirth an authentic self through study and striving in the footsteps of our movements, figures within them and drawing your own conclusions. The roles handed to us by the 'big house' of society must be handed back if we're truly to be as God intended us to be. Change your thinking. Change your community.
