Our Legacy Isn't Either/Or, It's Both/And.

 


I don't need to share scintilla of a Black figures ideology to understand his or her contribution to me. 

Nationalist, integrationist, internationalist, they bless me with their strategy and sincerity.

It's not either/or, it's a both/and legacy.

I am not a preacher nor a holy roller.   Happy Founder's Day to the Black Panther Party! I was an infant when the party was founded on October 15, 1966. Their imagery and survival programs inspired my later #borrowabrother community safety creation outreach,  #halthunger food outreach to our homeless and 'almost homeless' working class and recently, #prayerfulpanther advocacy. As beloved ancestor Malcolm X inspired them, so have he and this first generation of Panthers inspired me, including local original New Orleans chapter member beloved Brother Malik Raheem.
